Welcome to The Acting Studio - New YorkMany years ago I imagined creating a place where actors not only could study acting but one where they could also gain invaluable, practical experience by actually doing it in performances to the public. Since its first inception in 1983, the Studio has provided students with the kind of professional actor training needed to develop themselves into first-rate craftsmen. The Studio has also provided them with a home-base wherein they can gain experience outside the classroom which complements their classroom training and helps them in the transition from the classroom into the acting industry.
The programs and classes are designed to train actors, directors and writers who seek professional careers in the fields of Film, Television and Theatre. Through Chelsea Rep LAB we provide a mechanism for our students to write, direct, audition and act in shows and productions. We have many alumni who continue to return to the studio to act with our company along with our current students, while they continue to blossom in the industry at large!
