Since The Acting Studio - New York was established in1983, James Price and the Studio staff of working professionals have continually offered short and long term, comprehensive training in film and theatre at all levels to many people who consequently achieved success in pursuing professional careers in acting, directing and producing.
The Studio is in resident at Shetler Studios Theatre Complex which includes two fully functional, intimate performance theatres. It is conveniently accessible to public transportation and located in the heart of the New York City theater district around the corner from The Late Show with Stephen Colbert at the Ed Sullivan.
The Studio training ranks highest in quality while managing to maintain lower rates in comparison other NY studios. How? The Studio does not support a huge advertising budget nor incur costs associated with maintaining NY real estate. The savings are passed along to our students through rates that are affordable.

Studio Director James Price was protégé and a personal friend to the legendary Sanford Meisner, whose training system has emerged as the leading name in American actor training. The Studio’s Meisner training offered by James Price and Studio associate Bruce Hermann is authentic, first generation.
