I found The Acting Studio, Inc online while searching for an acting school to take some classes and pursue acting as a hobby. I found their website to be informative, serious, and unpretentious. I found what I was looking for and more! Halfway into their 10-week Introduction to Meisner class I was hooked and seriously thinking about acting as a career. I finished their full acting program one year ago and am still involved with The Acting Studio community, still working, learning, and growing. James Price and John Grabowski are the best teachers and mentors a serious actor could get, and the rest of the faculty is excellent as well. The Acting Studio, Inc. is definitely the home for the serious actor.

I studied at a couple of places in New York, but I was never satisfied. I always felt something was missing. I took a break from acting and those other schools for a few months and was almost about to quit, and then I found The Acting Studio Inc. online, just by chance. Or was it? I told myself that if The Acting Studio Inc. didn’t offer solid training, then I would quit and forget about my childhood dream. I am so happy to say that The Acting Studio Inc. has laid the solid foundation on which I stand today. I went from the Principles Of Acting - Introduction to Meisner class through the Performance Workshop (the whole acting program) and it’s the best decision I have ever made in my acting career thus far. In my opinion, James Price and John Grabowski are the best teachers/coaches in the business, and John Grabowski is a phenomenal director. I’m happy to say that thanks to them and the adjunct faculty at the Studio, I did not quit acting, and I never will. If you want solid training and a supportive environment to develop and grow as an actor, The Acting Studio, Inc. is the place for you. It will be one of the best investments you’ll ever make in your acting career.

With James Price at The Acting Studio, Inc. - New York, I have just finished what has been the most exciting and challenging acting class I have ever taken. And simultaneously, it has also been the most fruitful. James Price is, without question, one of the greatest acting coaches - fostering, nurturing, & challenging each and every student, while uniquely ferreting out their strengths and weaknesses and enhancing them in a way that allowed virtually everyone to come out of the class as better actors, technicians, and people as well. From an acting technician’s perspective, this is all about the Meisner technique, but James communicates the soul, the needed commitment, and the professionalism this craft truly deserves. If you are serious, there is no other school or person to seek out. You may find other schools and other classes, but this place defines the reason to be in the industry.

I believe that The Acting Studio, Inc. can benefit actors at any level of their career. Throughout my studies at the Studio, I have seen relatively new actors make great leaps and bounds, and professional actors fine-tune their skills and bring new found insight to their work. Every teacher at the Studio has something very special to offer, and the Studio truly cares about their students succeeding in the acting world. The Acting Studio, Inc. also produces fantastic and unique productions through the Chelsea Repertory Company, their resident theatre company.  The company also gives many opportunities for the students and alumni to perform publicly.  Many of the current students and alumni have already had great success in their careers, and The Acting Studio, Inc. is a place where the majority of students and alumni return to for classes and a place they call “their acting home.” The Studio is truly a gem, and the level of training and work that is presented at the studio is beyond what I have experienced in other acting schools and theatre programs.

The Acting Studio, Inc. has been a great learning environment in which to develop my acting skills for the past three years. I walked away from the Studio’s Performance Workshop feeling confident and capable as a professional actor. James Price and John Grabowski are amazing teachers who are dedicated and meticulous, and who provide honest, in-depth critiques of our work. The Acting Studio, Inc. has an incredible team of instructors who work in the industry and provide students with high-quality classes and ongoing workshops. They also have a class schedule offering evening, day, and weekend courses that allow me to take classes and support myself full-time in another career. James Price is a gifted artist, teacher, and human being whose mission in life is sharing his authority and love of acting with each and every one of his students. His attention and perception are uncanny, and I will never forget him or the time that I spent in his classroom.

James Price is a teacher in the truest sense of the word, and, by being his student, my life (acting and otherwise) has been permanently changed for the better. I have just commenced on the long road to understanding the “truth” of what acting really is, and I am blessed to have James guide me through that process. I would wholeheartedly recommend his class to anyone really interested in first understanding and then perfecting the craft of acting.

James Price is an excellent, professional, and talented actor who possesses extensive knowledge of the Meisner Technique of acting. His respect for his craft is an inspiration to aspiring actors, and his classes are highly recommended for anyone looking for a serious acting study.

There are numerous studios professing to teach some form of Meisner or other, and each is trying to convince you with a fair amount of marketing and flash that theirs is the best. What I loved most about my experience at The Acting Studio, Inc. is that James never had to convince us that he knew what he was talking about - from the beginning of the first class to the end of the last he set about shaping us into more skilled actors, and to be honest, more skilled human beings. I’m excited to continue studying with James in the fall, and for anyone eager to learn more about the craft of acting I can’t recommend this studio strongly enough.

I am now a member the Chelsea Repertory Company founded by James Price and John Grabowski. I continue to study at the Studio taking an advanced professionals scene study class with John, who is an amazing teacher and director. I am a serious, working professional actress for the past 23 years and The Acting Studio, Inc. is my artistic home….James Price is an excellent acting teacher.
