Our Philosophy

Journey of the Figth Horse

The Acting Studio, Inc.'s classes and programs encompass both traditional and progressive forms of acting, directing, and theatre practice. The focus of the Studio and its programs is on the quality of work rather than on the volume of enrollment. A professional standard in work ethics and discipline is expected. Students must be highly motivated and be able to maintain The Acting Studio, Inc.'s standard.

Every class has a limited enrollment to assure the student of the opportunity to work in each class. Individual attention is provided in privately conducted classes that allow the student to establish a professional bond with his/her instructors, all of whom are highly trained and experienced. Each student is individually nurtured, supported, and challenged according to his/her needs in the hope that he/she will discover the uniqueness of his/her create self and begin to establish a relationship with acting or directing as a form of self-expression.

Our programs draw upon the standards and traditions established by Stanislavsky and the Moscow Art Theatre and then continued in the United States by Harold Clurman, and Sanford Meisner in the Group Theatre. They also incorporate theories and practices of such noted teachers as Stella Adler, Michael Chekhov, and Uta Hagen, as well as the techniques of more progressive theatre artists such as Peter Brook, Joseph Chaikin, Viola Spolin, and Augusto Boal.
